neighbourhood

In our street there is:
the best bakery in Brussels, the Horta Museum, a store called “Retro Paradise”, a great Italian fish restaurant, a bar that closes at dawn, a store/workshop where they still use lead letters to print…

Our street is located in the Ixelles area, specifically in a neighbourhood called “Le Chatelain“.
This village-style neighbourhood is bordered by the famous avenue Louise, a commercial axis bordered by large trees, leading from one side to the central districts, Marolles and Sablon, and to the other side to our great green lung that is the Bois de la Cambre, a forest in the city.

Access to the different parts of Brussels is really easy thanks to several tramway and bus lines which are a few minutes walk from the house. Several Villo stations (the Brussels bike renting network) are nearby the house.

In our lively neighbourhood, at walking distance, you will find:

  • restaurants for all tastes – from authentic Italian to Belgian brasserie, Asian food, etc. All styles of bars, local, trendy, wine bars, beer bars… And also plenty of takeaways opportunity if you prefer to enjoy your sunny terrace.
  • on Wednesdays, from noon until early evening, you could take a moment to enjoy the very nice food market. Italian, African, Asian shopkeepers, … offer dishes to eat directly or take away. You can even eat some oysters with a glass of white wine directly on the spot. This event attracts a large cosmopolitan crowd enjoying the neighbouring terraces.
  • a lot of small neighbourhood stores and local designer shops where you will certainly find original gifts from Brussels to bring back home. To find major international brands, simply walk to the avenue Louise, a few minutes away.
  • and beautiful examples of Art Nouveau architecture that you will discover as you wander around by foot, following the map that we put at your disposal.
